The area

The village of Matt lies in the canton of Glarus, in Eastern Switzerland, and can be reached by car in approx. 90 minutes from Zurich airport. It can also be reached by train and bus from Zurich. The village of Matt is bypassed by the main road to Elm and there is generally little traffic on the road going past the house.
Highlights: 5 minutes walk from the house to the aerial cable car station to Weissenberg. Weissenberg mountain has a restaurant, several gorgeous viewpoints and a sledge run back down to the village of Matt.

10 minutes drive to the famous ski area of Elm, with shuttle buses operating from the front of the house to Elm during the ski season.
